Good news for Travellers towards the Kokan Region for the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. The state cabinet has decided to waive off the toll for these Kokan travelers via Mumbai Pune Express way. The Mumbai –Goa Highway is not in good condition due to road works and bad weather. Due to this reason Many would opt for Mumbai – Pune Expressway. These travelers will have to get a pass issued from the nearest RTO on submission of address proof . The rebate has been announced for vehicles travelling on September 2, 3 and 4.
“Those travelling will have to seek a special pass from the nearest transport office giving copies of address proof in Mumbai, Thane and their destination in Konkan,” informed Shinde. The Mumbai Goa highway is the usual route taken to reach Konkan but is presently undergoing overhaul at certain spots due to which many are likely to use e-way, said officials.
