Mumbai bids an emotional Adieu to the last DC EMU

Mumbai bids an emotional Adieu to the last DC EMU.

The red and yellow train that we once boarded as young kids now walks into history. Yes the DC EMU had its final journey from Kurla to CST at 11.30 pm 9Th April,2016.

The harbor line will start its operation on the AC lines. This means less maintenance and now harbor line will be able to provide services on accurate time.

As the train arrived at Kurla platform No. 8 at exactly 11.20 pm it was completely decorated to say goodbye for one last time. The DC EMU rake served Mumbai for 91 years. In 1925 it first started service in Mumbai by the British Empire. For many people trains in Mumbai are life lines. If the train falters expect the entire city to either come to a complete standstill or report late to work.

The response of people was great. Bands of Railway welcomed the train at Kurla. People in large numbers were taking pictures of the Last ever DC EMU to run on Mumbai Tracks.
